CANCER SUCKS
My dad died from cancer in July of 2008. I believe that he had cancer for many years before it was "found" by a doctor doing a scan before his shoulder surgery. I believe that his treatment of chemotherapy was what sped up his death. I will not EVER get chemo if I should ever, (God forbid), get cancer! He also participated in an experimental drug therapy. Now, the endocrinologist made it sound so promising and that this drug had such great prospects. I believe that they only give "experimental" drugs to people they know are going to die anyway and use them as guinea pigs. They handed out bracelets, like the Livestrong bracelets that were blue and said "Research + HOpe = Cure" but what it should have said was "Poison + Unsuspecting patients = Death". So I am a bit bitter about it, the treatment of his disease I mean. I know God's timing is perfect and I do believe that my dad is in Heaven, but I wish he wouldn't have suffered the effects of chemo and other drugs before he passed.
I have also looked in to natural ways to cure cancer and found some interesting information about the Gerson Institute that uses natural organic foods, detox and high doses of Vitamin C as part of their treatment. It is an interesting concept to me. I have watched the movie "Healing Cancer" and "The Beautiful Truth", both are on Netflix and have some great information. Whether you believe it or not is up to you, but I have found it fascinating information.

World Diabetes Day!
I forgot to mention...today is World Diabetes Day and while I don't have diabetes, two people whom I love, do have it. I have really been researching how to "cure" diabetes and have learned that when you change your diet, it really is possible to reverse diabetes and the effects it has on your body! There is a really good website that has info on this on the left of the post, called Raw for 30 days! Check it out.
They have done a study of people who went on a raw diet for 30 days and were essentially cured of diabetes. I think it is worth looking in to anyway. There are just too many other secondary illnesses that come from diabetes NOT to give it a try, in my opinion.
That being said, I am not on a raw diet myself, but I have changed my diet to be about 70% raw. I feel better and have lost weight AND I had a few "cafe au lait" (sp?) spots on my leg, from many years of tanning and after changing my diet for 3 weeks, I have noticed a significant change in the appearance of these marks. They are lighter, not as raised and don't itch like they used to. They are smaller than an eraser and just a little darker than my skin. But they have gotten better and this encourages me. I have cut out all salt, sugar, milk and have reduced the other dairy products. I do still have a very small amount of shredded cheese on my salads, but other than that I have given up dairy. I eat chicken occasionally and fish, but no other meat. It hasn't been that hard to give up. I drink LOTS of water as well. No soda, even diet. I do have tea but only with Stevia for a sweetner. Like I said, it's a start. I don't even know if anyone will even read this...but it makes me feel better to get it out, LOL! Remember: You are what you eat and FOOD DOES MATTER!
